About CMNLAN
CMNLAN is confederation of computer gaming groups. The goal of CMNLAN is to provide better gaming experiences for gamers in the area by combining the resources and talents of member gaming groups. No one group is in charge of CMNLAN, and no gamer is simply a member of CMNLAN. Each person involved in CMNLAN is a member of his/her repective gaming group. That gaming group is then a member of CMNLAN. The idea for forming CMNLAN came from by~tor of the SCLG (St. Cloud LAN Gamers) after a joint LAN party held at SJU (St. John's University) with the CSB/SJU CGC (Computer Gaming Club). The joint endeavor was a success. by~tor thought that if more groups could be involved then the LAN parties would be even better. The CGC and SCLG then formed CMNLAN with this idea in mind and sent out a call for more members. So far LANServers and the HCGA have answered that call. The membership to CMNLAN is always open and we are always looking for more member groups. If your gaming group is interested in joining CMNLAN simply post to the forums that your group is interested in joining.

CSB|SJU Computer Gaming Club
The "CGC" started as a small group of gamers who thought there should be some kind of computer gaming events on the campuses of St. John's University and the College of St. Benedict. The founders knew that many students enjoyed computer gaming and would love to play in LAN parties. After much red tape the club was created in 2002. Their first LAN took place in January of 2003. Since then they've coordinated half a dozen LAN parties. The CGC also provides students with resources for gaming such as patch/game servers and forums. In addition to LAN parties the CGC also hosts console events. The CGC joined CMNLAN in order to have bigger and better LAN parties for its members to enjoy.

St. Cloud LAN Gamers
SCLG (Saint Cloud LAN Gamers) was formed in 2002 with the goal of becoming a LAN party organization for the St. Cloud area. Soon after it was realized that there were already groups in the area, so the last few years SCLG has been spent organizing LAN party’s, working with other gaming groups to organize and grow LAN party sizes, building sponsor relationships, and trying to find niches that would interest the average gamer. One of the biggest successes so far is WPW (WAN Party Wednesday).

WPW was formed with the idea that we deserve a break from the workweek by having a gaming session each week without the hassle of moving computers to a LAN party. During WPW we use voice chat software (Ventrilo) to give the online experience more of a LAN feel. WPW is run on a local server and is unadvertised. In addition there is usually a UT2K4 server up and running as well as a Quake III server. Check out www.saintcloudlangamers.com for more information.

We look forward to working with other LAN party groups in an effort to grow CMNLAN to itŐs fullest potential.
