This Saturday, CSB will be hosting the Festival of Cultures, from 1-4 p.m. in the HCC Field House.

"It's free and it's fun," said Aisha Sylvester, co-chair of the Cultural Affairs Board (CAB).

The festival is an annual event at which international students can display their countries and cultures for not only the student population, but for faculty and the St. Joseph community as well.

Booths may include a sampling of free food, information about foreign countries or cultures, pictures and artwork.

The students operating the booths sometimes wear cultural outfits or have musical selections from their country.

This year, more cultures will be represented than previous years and, for the first time, the colleges will help fund the event.

The festival is planned by the Global Initiative Group (GIG) and CAB.

Amanda Crosby, a member of GIG, estimates that 1,500-2,000 people attend this event each year.
