We will be meeting in Sexton 200. The fun will start at 8:00 pm and continue until midnight. Bring your dessert and snack appetites because there will be chips, popcorn, cookies, pop, pretzels, and pie...lots of pie! The competition is on with games like Catch Phrase, Twister, Mafia, and many more. Stay as long as you want and make sure you bring friends, along with your favorite games!!!

Linda Allen, Director of Birthline, a local Pregnancy Resource Center, sees potential births and abortions every day. She will speak at our regular club meeting about the situations her clientele face, and about ways in which we can become involved.

Our first club meeting has been pushed back to this Thursday as a result of the Constitution Day forum. The agenda for our meeting includes a discussion of the forum, as well as event planning for the new school year. The Political Science department is hosting a Forum On Abortion and the Supreme Court. This will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Gorecki 204B. Students for Life would like to encourage pro-life and pro-choice students alike to attend this event and join the discussion on one of the most important issues of our time. According to the Political Science department, participants in this panel include Poli-sci professors Neal Allen, Phil Kronebusch, and James Read.

February 8, 2007: Pharmacist Speaks at Next Meeting
When: 7:00 pm-8:00 pm
Where: HCC
Neil Noessen will speak about the law as it relates to pharmacists distributing birth control. He is currently involved in a court case for refusing to fill a prescription.
Most importantly, though, there will be PIZZA and POP at the meeting!

January 22, 2007: Pro Life Rally at the Capital
When: 9:45 am-4:30 pm
Where: Leave from HCC
Monday, January 22, marks the 34th anniversary of the tragedy of legalized abortion. Students For Life is sponsoring a bus to the Minnesota State Capital, to rally support for pro life legislation. The bus will leave the west side of the Haehn Campus Center at 9:45am, and return by 4:30 pm. There is no cost to ride the bus. If you wish to join us, please drop us an email at sfl@csbsju.edu, or even simply show up at 9:45. There will be a waiver form that you must complete before you can ride the bus, which can be found at http://www.users.csbsju.edu/sfl/waiver.doc. Please join and thousands from around the state to protest the tragedy of abortion.

- What can we do in our communities to promote pro-life awareness?
- How should life issues influence our political affiliations and voting?

December 2, 2006: Diaper Drive
When: 12:00 am-12:00 pm
Where: St. Cloud
We will be at a booth outside of some St. Cloud Retailers, such as Cash Wise, and/or WalMart inviting shoppers to consider making a donation of diapers, or other supplies to benefit Stepping Stones, a program created by Birthline to help women who are facing an unplanned, or difficult situation pregnancies. Volunteers are needed to staff the booths. Please pitch in and help support this worthy program.

October 17, 2006: Cemetery of Innocence
When: 12:00 am-12:00 pm
Where: Outside of Simons
Today there are 180 crosses in place between Sexton and Simons Hall. The cemetery represents the number of people that are aborted in the United States every hour. It stands in tribute to the 1.3 million children that lost their lives this year because of legal abortion. This will run October 17 - October 19. Click to view the email flyer.

In an effort to build community amongst its members, Students for Life is sponsoring its second annual GAME NIGHT!! Bring a party game if you can; what we play will be based on what you bring! Ideas include: Taboo, Catch-Phrase, Twister, Mafia, Spoons, Cranium, cards, Chess, Trivial Pursuit, Jenga, and Clue. Stop in for an hour, or stay for all four! Students for Life is hosting guest speaker Angela Franks! Come and hear her speak on eugenics and the consequences of controlling female fertility.
Angela Franks is the author of Margaret Sanger's Eugenic Legacy: The Control of Female Fertility. "[In it], Angela Franks argues that Sanger did more than any other person to expand the reach of eugenics, an ideology that has done irreparable damage to countless women, minorities, persons with disabilities, and the poor. The book is a feminist indictment of a major component of the culture of death, definitively demonstrating why Planned Parenthood is the enemy of women and children around the world.*"

Where: Minnesota Capitol
MARCH FOR LIFE! You all are invited to attend the annual March for Life at the Minnesota State Capitol on Sunday January 22nd, the 33nd commemoration of Roe v. Wade. We are taking a bus that will depart CSB/SJU at noon from the HCC bus loop, join together with HUNDREDS of prolife of all ages, march in front of the Capitol, and attend a short program. We expect to be back at CSB/SJU by 5pm. Please RSVP no later than Friday (1/20) if you'd like to participate in this incredible gathering. Invite a friend too!

On April 21, 2005 we met in the HCC for a special viewing of "In the Womb," a two hour National Geographic special that Jim recorded. Turn out was higher than expected (I think we had 20 people!). Movie was very interesting, and the "4-D ultrasounds" and CG animation proved to be an effective and awe-inspiring method of teaching! Click to view the email flyer.

Guest Speaker Sally Winn Sally Winn to Speak at CSB/SJU! Sally Winn, VP of Feminists for Life of America, will be on campus to deliver a pro-woman, pro-life message titled, "Refuse to Choose: Reclaiming Feminism" at 7pm on March 8 at the Pellegrene Auditorium. January 19, 2005: Reality Check Display
When: 9:15 am-3:00 pm
Where: HCC Alumnae Hall
Do you know what abortion is really about? We hear the word all the time, and because it has become so commonplace, the horrible reality of abortion is often unrealized. We will be having a display HCC Alumnae Hall to show the realities of fetal development, aborted fetuses, and the abortion procedure itself. The pictures are hard to look at, and not everybody will want to see them, and so the doors to the alumnae hall will be closed during the display. We challenge you to come and see the truth about what abortion really is. The display will be on Wednesday 1/19, from 9:15am until 3pm.

December 2, 2004: Embryonic Stem Cell Research- What's the Big Deal?

Why is stem cell research so controversial? Why does the Church want to stop scientific research that could help so many people? If you have asked these questions, or just want to know more about the issue, you are invited to a presentation by Dr. Marc Dvoracek. Dr. Dvoracek, a practicing St. Cloud pathologist, will explore and explain the scientific background and moral dimensions of this research. Please join us at 7:00pm, Thursday, December 2, in the Haehn Campus Center Alumnae Lounge.
