Possibly the most popular Christmas carol worldwide. This song was first performed on Christmas Eve, 1818. It was written for two voices and guitar, so it sounds nice on mandolin too.
If you want to play an intro, the last line ("Sleep in heavenly peace") works well.
I have written mandolin tablature for two different arrangements. Silent Night, in G has fewer chords but goes farther up the E string.
If you like, you can hear a MIDI file of "Silent Night", in C.
