View of Sperm Whale Deoxygenated Myoglobin Dimer.  Deoxygenated Myoglobin (Deoxy Mb) is a dimeric oxygen binding protein found in muscle cells.  The Mb dimer contains one heme group.  The heme group is displayed in various views, but can also be turned on and off using the "Ligands" bottons.  In its deoxygenated form, myolgobin has a higher oxygen binding affinity than hemoglobin.  This allows oxygen to be transported into the muscles from the blood.
