I don't know if you've heard or not, but I know get to mess up mass spectrometers on a full time basis here in Nebraska. I ended up not working for the environmental guy, because he was doing EXACTLY the same thing I did for my research project at CSB and it didn't look like he was going anywhere. I work for Dave and Jean Smith in the Nebraska Center for Mass Spectrometry. We are working on human eye lens proteins to determine their amino acid sequences and try to find the cause of cataract. We work both on normal and cataract lenses. I do a ton of liquid chromatography too, in fact I got suckered into being in charge of our LC lab. We do electrospray, EI, CI, MALDI and FAB. We run a service center too, so once a week I spend a day doing mass spec for customers. P.S. I got married last August to the guy I dated in high school and college.
