The Senior Art Preview Exhibit gives senior art majors a chance to display their work before their final thesis exhibition in the spring.

A group of 13 seniors have been working all semester on completing their art for the preview.

"All of us have been working very hard on our exhibit all semester long, and in my opinion, there is a lot of talent in our class," CSB senior Abbie Haluska said.

The exhibit features very diverse types of art and subject matter including ceramics, video, paintings, sculpture and much more.

Senior Joe Iverson, president of the art club, said that the exhibit is a "first glimpse at the methods and the ideas of the artists" and a "preview not only for the audience but for the artists" themselves.

For some of the artists, this will be their first time seeing their work displayed in a gallery setting. For others it is the first time they have had an exhibit since their sophomore year.

It is also a preview in the sense that it will be the first group exhibition that the seniors have organized and created all of the art themselves.

"The exhibit serves as kind of a final for the work that we've been developing all semester," Iverson said.

The exhibit is displayed solely in the BAC, but the spring exhibit will also be displayed in the SJU Art Building.

The work on the art that will be shown in the spring will start next semester, as a completely new exhibit is created.

"Experiencing art is always worthwhile," Haluska said. "I believe that anyone coming into the exhibit will learn a lot."

The preview opened Monday and will remain open until Dec. 16.
